3.3 Connectivity issues due to Database Corruption after Power Failure.
Customer Session Pending only after closing a particular customer’s session

Scenarios where the issue occurs:-

The Scenarios where this issue can occur are as follows:

  • Server PC abnormally restarted/shutdown during application session because of the following:
    1. Power Failure.
    2. User/Administrator restarted/shutdown the system directly without closing the server application.
    3. System restarted or shut down abnormally because of hardware failure.
How to Identify the issue:-

Steps that help us to identify the issue are as follows:

After correctly closing a particular registered customer/member’s session, when we try to login another customer error comes “previous customer’s session is pending”  

Solution Provided:-
Steps to resolve the issue are as follows:

  1. While closing the Café Manager Console take the backup of the database.
  2. Open the Database folder which is located at “C:/Program Files/iCafeManager/Server/Database”. ( default location if windows in c: drive)
  3. Now Open the CCM.C3M file and follow the below mentioned steps:
    1. For Office 2003
      1. Go to Tools -> Database Utilities -> Compact and Repair Database
      2. This will help us remove all the invalid entries and establish the relationship between the tables.
    2. For Office 2007
      1. File (MS Office Logo) -> Manage -> Compact and Repair Database
      2. This will help us remove all the invalid entries and establish the relationship between the tables.
  4. Now open the Café Manager console check by assigning a test login on that terminal, if still giving same error the go for next steps
  5. Open the Database and tTempSession table then find out the CustomerId of the customer whose session is showing pending.
  6. Now delete all entries which are related to that CustomerId and also select and set active entries which are inactive in InComplete Invoice in tInvoice table of Database.
  7. Now close Database and open the Café Manager Console check by login on client terminal.
So the above given steps can resolve the” Customer Session Pending” issue as well.
