Scenarios where the issue occurs:-

The Scenarios where this issue can occur are as follows:

  1. Hard Disk Data Corruption Due to following causes:
    1. User switches off or resets PC without proper shut down /restart.
    2. Power fails or is accidentally switched off
How to Identify the issue:-

Steps that help us to identify the issue are as follows:

  1. Taking backup in Café Manager Console generates an error “The backup could not be created due to an error while copying the application and database files. Please try to create the backup again”. Backup crashes as soon as it is attempted.
Solution Provided:-

Steps to resolve the issue are as follows:

  1. Open the Café Manager Console and try to take the backup.
  2. While taking Café Manager Console backup it crashes as soon as it is attempted, this could either be because the TempData folder in “C:/program files/ideacts/Clinck cyber café manager” is in corrupted/unknown format or there is a TempData folder in “C:/program files/ideacts/Clinck cyber café manager” which is not getting deleted through Café Manager Console.
  3. Close the Café Manager Console.
  4. Open c:/program files/ideacts/Clinck cyber café manager and look for TempData Folder. TempData will either be in Unknown format or in folder format.
  1. TempData in Unknown Format will have the following resolution:
  1. Go to Start à Run à cmd à type “chkdsk /f c:”, this command will show a message that “chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be checked the next time the system restarts? <yes/no> . This is because the command cannot be executed on a system drive when the operating system is in use.  Restarting the system will fix the disk error during the boot process.
  2. So go ahead and reboot the system.
  3. This should resolve the issue where the TempData was showing in an Unknown Format.
  1. TempData is in Folder Format and is not getting deleted automatically then follow the steps given:
  1. Go to C:/program files/ideacts/Clinck cyber café manager and delete the TempData Folder Manually.
  2. Now start the Café Manager Console
  3. This should resolve the issue and the backup should run successfully.

Note: Chkdsk command are run to fix Logical file system errors in a particular machine, CHKDSK can also check the disk surface for physical errors or bad sectors and fixes them.
