4.1. Errors during backup
There was unknown Error Occurred While Compressing the backup files

Scenarios where the issue occurs:-

The Scenario where this issue can occur is as follows:

  1. While taking the database backup if the Regional Settings are not as recommended then we can face this issue.
How to Identify the issue:-

Steps that help us to identify the issue are as follows:

  1. While taking a backup you will get an Error saying that “There was unknown Error Occurred While Compressing the backup files”.
  2. In System Tray the time format will be of 24hrs.
Solution Provided:-

Steps to resolve the issue are as follows:

  • Open the Cafe Manager Console and try to take a backup of the database
  • The database backup can be taken in 3 ways:
    • In the Café Manager Console click on File > Backup.
    • While Closing the cafe manager and Clicking on Take Backup and close
    • Scheduled Backups.
  • Now while running the backup if you get the error message as “There was unknown Error Occurred While Compressing the backup files” then follow the below mentioned steps:

Server Side:

  1. Check for the date and time on the system tray.
  2.  It should have the current Date and time.
  3. If it is not showing the current Date and time then go to Start > Control panel > Date and Time Options.
  4. Once the Dialogue Box is open than click on the Time Zone Tab and check if it is showing as (GMT+05:30) Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi. If not then select the mentioned Time Zone.
  5. Now Click on Date and Time tab and change it to the current Date and Time.
  6. Click on Apply and then OK to save the changes
  • This should resolve the above mentioned issues.
  • If this does not resolve the issue then follow the steps given below
    1.  Clinck Start and then click Control Panel.
    2. Open Regional and Language Option.
    3. Select English (United States) in Regional Option.
    4. Select Location Only United States.
    5. Click on Customize and Select Time Tab.
    6. Change Time Format (h:mm:ss tt).
    7. Change Time Separator (:).
    8. Change AM or PM Symbol only in (AM or PM).
    9. Then Click Apply.
    10. Click On Date Tab.
    11. Select Short Date Format only (M/d/yyyy).
    12. Date Separator (/).
    13. Select Long Date format only (dddd, MMMM dd, yyyy).
  • Now this resolves the issue with reference to regional setting issue.
