3.4. Connectivity issues due to new Router or Network Configuration.

Scenarios where the issue occurs:-

The Scenario where this issue can occur is:

  1. Partner is using a router with a firewall. 
How to Identify the issue:-

Steps that help us to identify the issue are as follows:

  1. Client is not showing connected on the server machine.
  2. We are getting the ping response between the server and the client however still the client is not showing connected in the Café Manager Console.
  3. The C3M Server Logs shows that the terminal is communicating with the server application however it is not showing connected in the Café Manager console.
Solution Provided:-

Steps to resolve the issue are as follows:

  1. Check if the Client Server connectivity is established through the ping command.
  2. Go to the following path “C:/Program Files/Ideacts/Clinck Cyber Café Manager/Logs and then check the file UDP Send to Client and UDP Received from Client for the following info:
    1. In UDP Send to Client file check if the “Server’s IP address and the Café Code is mentioned”
    2. In UDP Received from Client file check if “Clients IP Address, Terminal Name, Café Code is mentioned”
  3. The above step will help us to check for the Server Client connectivity.
  4. Close the Café Manager Console.
  5. Open the Router Page. Open up your web browser, and enter the standard IP (internet protocol) for your router.

By Default : 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 (check your computer's Default Gateway start > Run > cmd > ipconfig /all).                                                                               

  1. Enter 192.168.1.1 Into your address bar
  2. If your router asks for a username and password, the default setting is no username and the password is "admin". Some of the examples are:
  1.  On Linksys routers its "admin" for both user and password.
  2. On Netgear Routers its "admin" for username and "password" for "password".
  1. Look for a tab with a name as Port forwarding or application settings
  2. Now enter the TCP and UDP Port in Router Table. TCP port is 36500 and UDP is 36501 and 36502.
  1. If your router asks you whether to open ports for TCP or UDP select both.

  1. Next enter the IP address of the computer in the router table.
  2. To check for the IP Address of the Clinck Server machine
    1. Go to Start àRunà type cmd which will take you to command prompt
    2. Now type Ipconfig and press Enter which will give us the information about the IP Address.
    3. Pay specific attention to the last three digits, most routers will only ask for these.
  1. Make sure you press save settings button on the Router Table to accept the changes done.
  2. Once all the above mentioned steps are done the Client Machine should be able to connect to the server.
